It is all about thoughts

I would like to inspire you to think about anything through sharing some thoughts and personal opinions. We all realize at some point in our life that ideas are very powerful things, and the key question we should often ask is: What if? Think, form your own thoughts and allow yourself doubts, ask the question "why?".

The topics I collect are mostly science and philosophy related, and have nothing to do to politics or the organizations I am (or have been) working for.

About myself

My name is T. Haraszti (Google Scholar). I am a physicist working in the interdisciplinary field of soft-matter nanotechnology, often related to biophysics.

A large chunk of my work is also related to computers and how we can use them for semi-automated data processing minimizing the human bias. Do not misunderstand me, I am not to get an AI doing the thinking instead of a human, but to employ the computation power of computers to crunch the numbers, so humans can make sense of it. I love telling people: computers are tools, not unlike a hammer or screw-driver, just a bit more complex.

Technical background

Traditionally I would prefer writing the HTML code by hand. However, I have become curious how much I can achieve with simple PHP scripting. And here is what I found: a CMS to serve my pages. So, a trial to web 2.0 (or more). And well, this is no simple PHP scripting anymore, it is TWIG, an even simpler format being translated to PHP.

Pico CMS

This page is powered by the Pico CMS, which allows me to fill content using an easy markup and set the style relatively quickly. The style I took is based on the somecode-theme, wich some minor simplifications.

How to use the site?

The page uses a small javascript menu. Clicking the icon in the top right corner opens a menu on the left hand side, and you can browse between the pages.
